FS East 2023

/// 2023 – round 2. For the first time in the club’s history, RUB Motorsport took part in FS East at the Hungaroring on the outskirts of Budapest from August 1st to 6th. At first, the week could hardly have started better. The nose of our RUB23e was adorned with more and more stickers as the days went by, little by little the car passed all inspections. For the very first time, an electric vehicle from RUB Motorsport successfully completed the electric and battery scrutineerings. But not only that; for the very first time an EV of our club drove under its own power during a Formula Student race week.

However, this is where things started to get a bit tricky. Despite several attempts, a wide variety of solutions and meticulous work, we did not manage to pass the brake test due to electronic problems. While the causes have been identified in the meantime and the problems been fixed, we ran out of time at the track.

After the Formula Student community was hit by a devastating thunderstorm on Friday night and the pits had to be evacuated early the next day due to renewed warnings, we didn’t have enough time to get the car ready for the start on site. Nevertheless, we are proud to have passed all other scrutineerings with flying colours and to have taken an important step towards successful Dynamics participation.
